I believe that open-ended questions allow the client to elaborate and expand their concern and help the client to open up and express his/her thoughts and feelings elaborately. The counsellor used an open-ended question so that he/she can get more clear information about the client's issue. I might use open-ended questions with the client like, ‘How do you feel in that moment?’ ‘What makes the problem better?’ ‘What changes attribute to positive would you like to see happen in your life?’
